Wait—you’re telling me I can get the Official Lights Out Cookbook and matching apron together in one gift set, revisit the Into Darkness world, and make food with names like Thirst Trap Hot Wings, Ravish Me Chicken, and Lights Out Black Velvet Cupcakes while drinking cocktails called Angry Aly, Red Flag Sangria, and Wet & Dirty? Oh, hell yes. Come to Mama! 😂
Obviously, this was an easy five stars for me. And somehow, I’ve apparently reached the point in my life where I’m giving a cookbook a spice rating. The food itself may be innocent, but between all the innuendos and the names they gave some of these recipes and cocktails, I had to give it at least one pepper. 🌶️
With gorgeous dark-romance photography, fun callbacks to Josh and Aly, and all those suspiciously named recipes and cocktails, this set practically demands its own Lights Out-themed dinner party. And you better believe I’m wearing that apron. If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right. I’m talking candles, themed drinks, a whole spread from the cookbook, and a table full of fellow readers debating whether Josh is husband material or the reason therapy exists. Hell, maybe I’ll even convince the hubby to wear the mask. We have to dress the part, right?
The more I think about it, the more I can see the whole freakin’ night playing out in my head—the food, the drinks, the decorations, and everybody sitting around talking about Josh, Aly, Fred, and all the wonderfully unhinged moments that made us love Lights Out in the first place. And now that I’ve pictured it, I genuinely want to make it happen. So, if you’ll excuse me, apparently I have an entire Lights Out dinner party menu to plan.
